METHOD AND PICKING UP APPARATUS FOR CATCHING HYDROBIONTS Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: commercial fishery. SUBSTANCE: method involves searching and concentrating hydrobionts adjacent to ship board; positioning catcher adjacent to ship board at depth providing upper seine rope to be arranged below lower level of concentrated mass of hydrobionts at distance at least equal to three heights of mass of hydrobionts; getting catcher out by lower seine rope at speed exceeding speed of lifting upper seine rope such that by the end of lifting process all seine ropes simultaneously reach water surface. Picking up catcher has upper and side seine ropes with floats, lower seine rope, net, hoisting cable attached to mid portion of upper seine rope, corner loads, lifting ropes and tightening rings. Lifting force of side seine rope floats exceeds that of upper seine rope. Net has netted wall positioned adjacent to lower seine rope. Tightening rings are secured along catcher corners defined by vertical edges of net and edges of netted wall. Lifting ropes are inserted through tightening rings. Total weight of corner loads exceeds that of floats. Catcher is provided with catch discharge device, which is preferably made in the form of conical drain sack or trough with vertical netted partitions. Method allows such laborious operation as transfer of hydrobiont concentrated mass from inoperative ship board to operating ship board to be eliminated. EFFECT: reduced adverse effect of luminous fields on fish, decreased time consumption and increased efficiency. 11 cl, 11 dwg
