METHOD OF TREATMENT OF SYRINGOMYELIA Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: medicine; neurology. SUBSTANCE: gauze turundas impregnated with 2-per cent solution of ceruloplasmin are inserted in both nostrils of patient. Current-carrying plate connected to terminal of POTOK-1 galvanizing apparatus is placed on turundas. Endonasal electrophoresis with 2-per cent solution of ceruloplasmin is passed from both poles alternately in compliance with the following scheme: strength of current is increased from 0.5 mA during the first procedure to 2.0 mA during the sixth procedure and further at the same strength of current. Duration of procedure is increased from 10 min during the first procedure to 30 min during the last one. Electrophoresis procedure is performed daily. Course of treatment amounts to 10-18 procedures.
