FIELD: manufacture of automobiles with disk brakes. SUBSTANCE: disk brake has disk, shoes, floating caliper with power cylinder and piston. Used as guide member of floating caliper are two parallel strips, which are secured to caliper on one side and on the other side they are fastened to both sides of floating caliper with the use of similar hinges provided with friction members. When the brake is applied the strips are displaced angularly round immovable axle which is passed through the axis of hinges connecting the strips with caliper. As a result friction in movable joint of brake caliper and floating caliper is considerably reduced, since longitudinal sliding friction is replaced by circumferential sliding friction in hinges. EFFECT: reduced friction in movable joint, possibility of caliper self-adjustment in the course of brake application; reduced mass of brake; simplified design and reduced cost of brake manufacture; improved reliability of brake operation. 4 dwg
