FIELD: measurement technology, dosimetric check of air. SUBSTANCE: method determining radioactivity of gas lies in preliminary charging of electret, in measurement of its initial charge, in injection of examined gas into measurement chamber, in exposure of electret in examined gas, in accumulation of ions and charged particles on surface of electret formed in process of disintegration of radioactive gas, in subsequent measurement of value of its surface charge, in determination of radioactivity of examined gas by change of value of surface charge of electret during exposure in examined gas. Measurement of initial charge of electret, measurement of its charge after exposure in examined gas, preliminary charge of electret are conducted directly in measurement chamber. Device determining radioactivity of gas includes measurement chamber with electret placed on conductive base it and joined to mechanism of vibration drive, corona-forming electrizer with controlled grid placed in parallel above free surface of electret.
