FIELD: mechanical engineering; arc welding. SUBSTANCE: proposed supply source can be used for welding in civil engineering, agriculture and for domestic purposes at single phase supply. Supply source has input rectifier, input filter, resonance thyristor inverter, RC-networks, output rectifier, output filter and control system. Supply source is designed to supply load in form of welding arc and to set and stabilize required load current. Design peculiarities of supply source are: use of inverter of special design, non-controllable output rectifier and control system which controls time required for restoration of closing properties of thyristors and peak values of voltage on inverter capacitor with introduction of required units into system.
