FIELD: transport engineering; aircraft wheel braking systems. SUBSTANCE: brake actuator comprises main hydraulic cylinder and additional hydraulic cylinder; piston of additional cylinder is provided with valve fitted in its cavity. When working fluid is fed to cavity, piston is set in motion and moves till needle gets engageable with stop; as a result, valve is open and working fluid sets in motion piston and consequently stop which compresses brake stack, thus performing braking. At relief of pressure in braking system having back pressure of 5 atm, valve closes and piston returns to its initial position sucking the working fluid from under piston neutralizing back pressure, thus releasing the brake and retaining operational clearance in brake stack.
