FIELD: electric engineering, in particular, power supply systems for alternating current electric motors which have smooth control of rotation frequency and electric braking, for example, for vehicles. SUBSTANCE: device has three- phase bridge current inverter, thyristor-choke regulator, 18-gate frequency converter, switching capacitors and braking resistors. Second three-phase current inverter, second thyristor regulator, diodes which are introduced in series aiding into each circuit arm of bridge current inverters, 6 additional gates are introduced to accomplish the goal of invention. Main gates provide six two-phase bridges which are connected in series aiding by means of direct current terminals to achieve ring circuit. Braking resistors are connected to output terminals of second thyristor regulator. Switching capacitors are connected to common points of cathodes and anodes of thyristor-diode circuit arms in corresponding phases of two three-phase bridges of current inverters. EFFECT: increased efficiency due to decreased power of capacitor units, improved design due to transmission of reactive power between phases of movement load, simplified control algorithm. 1 dwg
