FIELD: foundry. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to manufacturing molds by pulse method. Apparatus for compressing molding material including molding box and working chamber with piston and weight is provided with guides to move weight stationary mounted over working chamber and drive, weight being rigidly connected to piston. Apparatus is additionally provided with carriage installed on guides and interacting with weight through spring-loaded levers. Guides are made in the form of circle arcs. Weight is connected with drive by means of lever, axis of revolution of which coincides with that of guides. Invention results in that air needed to compact molding mixture is compressed directly in working chamber over molding mixture which, in turn, results in essentially simplifying construction of apparatus as a whole because compressor and pipelines are not necessary. EFFECT: simplified construction. 3 cl, 3 dwg
