SUBSTANCE: method includes supply to zone of cutting of oxygen gas jet, and at least one protective gas jet with low velocity equals to 0.45-0.55 velocity of gas jet of cutting oxygen. Provision is made of supply of several, at least two protective gas jets, supply of protective jets with different velocities at the boundary of neighboring gas layers, supply of one of protective jets with eccentricity relative to jet of cutting oxygen equals to 0.3-0.4 of diameter of this jet.
