FIELD: aeronautical engineering. SUBSTANCE: tip of wing is provided with vane for reduction of induced drag which consists of at least three horizontal small vanes mounted one after another and made with aerodynamic profile at definite angle of attack relative to tip chord of wing. Angle of attack of small vane is optimal depending on intensity of tip vortices prevailing in section of tip chord of wing under consideration. Incidence may be positive and negative depending on distribution of aerodynamic load near tip sections of wing. In plan, tip vane is 1/4 of circle at radius equal to tip chord of wing with center lying at point of intersection of wing edge with tip chord. Small vanes have chord equal to b/n, where b is tip chord of wing and n is number of small vanes. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. 2 dwg
