PROCESS TESTING MAIN PIPE-LINES Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: transportation of gas over main pipe-lines, putting into service sections of pipe-lines. SUBSTANCE: process includes filling of section of pipe-line by tapping from source to pressure equal to pressure in source with its subsequent rise up to specified value by pumping of medium with pumping means, maintenance of this pressure and release. Rise of pressure is performed by gas by formation of medium in the form of gas-and-liquid mixture. After pressure test gas is separated from liquid and is fed into tested section and liquid is used again for preparation of gas-and-liquid mixture. Functioning main pipe-lines or pressure pipe-lines of gas fields can be used as source of gas. Piston pump may be used in the capacity of pumping means. In this case formed gas-and-liquid medium should contain not less than five volumetric per cent of liquid phase under pressure equal to feed of gas into pumping means. EFFECT: enhanced reliability and efficiency of process.
