FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: method depends on finding required actions to stop asynchronous running depending on cause of its occurrence. It involves measurement of angle between vectors of machine voltage and internal emf and check-up of active power direction made within desired intervals of measured angle thereby determining cause of asynchronous running: whether it is due to poor stability (asynchronous running with excitation) or faults in excitation system (asynchronous running with complete or partial loss of field); required actions for stopping asynchronous running are taken depending on cause identified. EFFECT: reduced probability of heavy accidents, improved reliability of asynchronous machines in emergency situations. 1 dwg
