FIELD: transport engineering; safety devices. SUBSTANCE: seat belt length adjuster has flat ring shackle with rectangular cutout, movable detent wrapped by adjustable portion of strap passed at one side through hole in shackle, and fixed insert-indicator, detent and insert being placed in protective decorative case. According to invention, insert-indicator is made in form of plate gasket following the shape of shackle is placed between movable detent and shackle and is paired with shackle so that flanges of cutout are arranged in shackle cutout forming closed side surface over perimeter with at least one longitudinal rib made along outer edge of insert directed inwards the protective decorative case. Owing to the fact that insert-indicator is made flat following the shape of ring shackle and its arrangement between movable detent and shackle in cutout of which its flanges are arranged forming closed side surface over perimeter and provision of longitudinal thrust ribs and chamfers and longitudinal grooves providing required direction of separation of thrust ribs, visual indication of critical loads at road accidents is provided and reliability of device is improved by prevention of cutting of belt straps.
