FIELD: mechanical engineering; transportation of loose materials over long distances. SUBSTANCE: belt conveyor has closed load carrying belt passed over unloading and deflecting drums installed on frame. Deflecting drum which serves as cleaning device is arranged on additional frame and is made in form of two side support disks installed on axle. Disks are rigidly connected over outer diameter of drum by herringbone coupling formed by beams. U-shaped slots are cut along beams relative to pitch cylinder generating line at angle of 35-45 degrees. Resilient blades are fitted in slots. Intermediate shaft is mounted at one side relative to horizontal axis of rotation of deflecting drum. Deflecting drum is mechanically coupled with unloading drum drive in direction of belt movement. Pressure roller is installed for movement over surface of looped band at other side. Ratio of peripheral speed of deflecting drum to linear speed of conveyor belt is chosen within 1.1 and 1.3. Frame is installed for displacement square to direction of translational movement of conveyor load carrying belt. EFFECT: enlarged operating capabilities. 2 cl, 7 dwg
