FIELD: chemical industry; recovery of oxygen contained in tail gases upstream of gas turbines. SUBSTANCE: proposed method is inventively novel in that natural gas is admixed to tail gases, resulting mixture is heated up to temperature above 450 C, followed by combustion of natural gas in presence of residual oxygen contained in tail gases over catalyst, heat thus-generated being recovered by gas turbine. EFFECT: method offers multiple advantages: 1) fuller use residual oxygen contained in tail gases and of air liberated at ammonia oxidation process step for production of nitric acid; 2) higher output of existing equipment; 3) lower power consumption. 1 dwg
