FIELD: technique of spraying the metal onto article surface, in particular, by electric-arc melting of wire; may be used in mechanical engineering for metallizing of worn-out surfaces. SUBSTANCE: melting zone is formed behind the nozzle edge at a distance of not in excess of eight radii of nozzle. EFFECT: provision of stable and qualitative metallizing process due to exclusion of metal splashes getting on nozzle.
