FIELD: processing polymer materials. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of melting thermoplastic polymer materials, e.g. polyolefins, polyamides, polyvinylchloride, polyesters including their wastes (primarily finely dispersed ones having small bulk weight, e.g. film, fibrous, granulated, dustlike etc. materials) in liquid inert heating medium with subsequent utilization of formed polymer melt. According to invention, material is heated to a temperature above melting temperature in liquid inert medium less viscous than polymer melt by a factor of 800 and more, after which polymer melt and heating medium are separated by the aid of mechanical force from 0.1 to 70 mPa. Thermoplastic wastes of agricultural and household origin can be utilized. EFFECT: optimized process parameters. 1 tbl
