FIELD: oil and gas production. SUBSTANCE: composition contains lignosulfonate (1-30 wt %) and exhausted alkali from gas scrubbing processes (70-99 wt %). Exhausted alkali contains at least 5% sodium hydroxide and/or sodium carbonate and has pH above 10. Lignosulfonate contains at least 30% of base material. Composition may be applied in middle and back stages of oil field development. EFFECT: improved controlling and insulator properties, reduced cost and toxicity. 6 tbl
