FIELD: medicine; medical engineering; endoscopic instruments and means for delivering optic radiation. SUBSTANCE: proposed probe comprises standard-type multi-wire light guide, holder, shell and microobjective, inlet portion of which is made of form of focon having shape of truncated cone. Focon is constituted by fibres of variable diameter increasing towards inlet axial end. Focon is made of standard type, while light guide is made as braided assembly. Angle 2θ at focon vertex is selected to be such as to prevent failure caused by overheating of fibres due to light energy scattering from side surface of probe, and to meet following relationship , wherein Plesermax is maximum power density scattered by optic-fibre braid; R is radius of incident light beam (2xR is input diameter of focon); r is fibre braid radius (2xr is diameter of immersible portion of probe); and Plaser is input power of laser beam. EFFECT: invention makes it possible to organize delivery of high-power optic radiation having complicated modal composition into flexible optic-fibre braided conductor to deliver laser radiation to patient without distorting modal picture. 2 dwg
