FIELD: ophthalmology; diagnostics. SUBSTANCE: patient's sensitivity threshold to light brightness is measured 3-5 times in succession at center of vision field and if spread of measurement results reaches 0.4 logarithmic units and upwards, ophthalmologist issues diagnosis that patient's optic nerve is in pathologic condition. EFFECT: method permits early diagnosis of pathologic conditions in ophthalmology.
