CAST PIN-TYPE INSERT FOR INSERTION INTO TOOTH STUMP Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: stomatology; manufacture of dentures for multi- root teeth having one or two (in case of three-root tooth) amputated (resected) roots. SUBSTANCE: cast insert comprises stump-insertable part 1, extensible pin 2 having working portion 3, and artificial crown 4. Working portions of extensible pins are intended to be received into pits left by amputated (resected) roots of teeth and are made of complicated shapes with developed surface in form of succession of in-series connected truncated cones. Pine is fixed in tooth's healthy root and is made so that its length is equal to at least 1/3 of tooth's healthy root and is made so that its length is equal to at least 1/3 of tooth's root length. Once insert fixed in tooth's root, all its components act as one-piece, cast pin-type, stump-insertable insert. EFFECT: simplified operative procedure.
