FIELD: recondition the power cylinders, in particular, power cylinders of plunger presses. SUBSTANCE: method provides for boring cylinder body to enlarge its internal diameter, installation in produced bore of protective jacket, fixing the jacket from longitudinal displacement, installation of members for drawing together of crack edges, drawing together of crack edges, fixing the drawn together crack. After boring, formed in body are longitudinal recesses and a number of circular recesses spaced in succession. Protective jacket is used in the form of longitudinal bushing with radial ribs. Jacket is fixed to prevent its turning. Radial ribs serve to transmit to cylinder body the force of friction of plunger and radial component of medium pressure onto body.
