FIELD: press equipment; manufacture of wood fiber boards, wood particle boards, plywood, wood plastics and laminated woods. SUBSTANCE: hydraulic platen press has upper and lower fixed cross-members tightened up by columns passing through split holders; lower cross-members are connected in pairs by means of additional cross-members in whose bores raising cylinders are mounted. Lower cross-members are provided with central through stepped holes forming working cylinders where stepped plungers are located; stepped plungers have through central holes for spacers. Upper surfaces of plungers carry housings, drives and gates with holes for spacers secured from below to movable cross-member and raised by cylinders during idle stroke of press. EFFECT: reduced usage of materials; improved operating conditions; reduced consumption of labor for repair jobs. 5 cl, 5 dwg
