FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: screw press has a bed and a frame secured on it. The external netted casing is installed on the frame horizontally for rotation. The auger, whose helical surface is arranged around the auger body and made over the entire length of its passage for direct proximity to the surface of the external netted casing, is aligned in the netted casing in the horizontal direction for rotation. One end of the netted casing accommodates the mechanism for suspension loading in the space between the external netted casing and auger. At least one drive of the auger and external netted casing provides their rotation in opposite directions. The press is furnished with a device that protects it against overloads, it is made as a means for cleaning the external netted casing and located on the external side of the latter, means for cleaning the auger having its surface in the form of a net, meter located inside the auger and used for measuring the load applied to the rotation drive of the netted casing and auger, and a means that controls this load and is connected to the rotation drive and cleaning means for influencing the drive so as to reverse the rotation of the external netted casing and auger and actuate the means for their cleaning when the load applied to the drive attains the preset value.
