FIELD: inorganic chemistry and technology. SUBSTANCE: method involves preparing the charge containing calcium fluoride (the base) and activating agents - compounds of rare-earth metals or manganese. Method involves pressing the tablet, its thermic treatment by CO2-laser at radiation density P = (0.6-1.2) x 105 W x cm-2 and the rate of beam scanning V = (50-100) cm x c-1 for t = (3-30) s. The product value P x V x t is taken according to an equation: 3.6 x 107 W x cm-1≅ P x V x t ≅ 9.0 x 107 W x cm-1. The prepared thermoluminophores have the required ratio of sensitivity on surface and in volume. The end product is used in medicine as detector of ionizing radiation. EFFECT: improved method of producing, improved quality. 2 tbl
