BELLOWS ENGINE Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: mechanical engineering; pneumatic actuating mechanisms. SUBSTANCE: bellows engine has housing and working members. Housing has guide posts with working members placed in their cavities. Working members are made in form of bellows with sliders connected to bottoms and to outer side surfaces. Sliders engage with guide posts. Bottoms of bellows are connected by articulated rocker, and their open portions communicate with pipeline through valve units. Additional posts are installed between working members symmetrically with the latter. Working members selector is secured on additional posts. Selector is made in form of two pushers hinge- connected by intermediate rod and additional rockers of pushers. At least one main rocker is installed on each additional post. Main rocker mounted on additional post is hinge-connected by compression spring rod with compression spring lever installed in middle portion. Outer end of compression lever is pointed to intermediate rod. Mounted additionally in pairs on additional posts on one axle and parallel to each other are lever-lock of common axle of folding members and lever-lock of compression springs.
