FIELD: instrumentation for chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: method determining magnetic susceptibility of magnetic fluid consists in application of magnetic field on magnetic fluid, in exciting of surface wave, in measurement of wave length and calculation of magnetic susceptibility by formulas obtained as result of analysis of process of propagation of wave over surface of magnetic fluid located in magnetic field. For application of magnetic field in parallel to free surface of fluid magnetic susceptibility is computed by formula given in description of invention.
