FIELD: medical engineering. SUBSTANCE: method involves applying electrodes to patient body surface and processing signals read in dynamic mode. Psychophysical response is evaluated according to changing action current vector density by applying polytron unit operating in signal selection mode, the signals coming from electrodes to its collector plates. The device has polytron 1 connected to patient 2, integrator unit 5 connected to output of polytron 1 through differential amplifier 6, carrier oscillator 9 and memory unit 8. The device additionally has psychophysical response exciter unit 12, electrodes 3 for connecting polytron 1 to patient 2, analog-to-digital converter 7, timer unit 10 and control and recording unit 11. Electrodes 3 are connected to collector plates of polytron 1, the carrier oscillator is connected to scanning plates of polytron 1, analog-to-digital converter input is bound with output of integrator 5, output of analog-to-digital converter 7 is connected to information input of memory unit 8, output of timer 9 is connected to control inputs of memory unit 8 and control and recording unit 11. Output of memory unit 8 is bound to information input of control and recording unit 11, control and recording unit 11 is bound to psychophysical response exciter unit 12. Psychogram-to-task correlation coefficient of examined psychically trained people is found to be equal to 0.91-0.97. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy in estimating attention concentration. 2 cl, 5 dwg
