METHOD OF BURNING OF NATURAL GAS IN HIGH-TEMPERATURE INDUSTRIAL FURNACE Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

Abstract RU 2099661 C1

FIELD: procedure of burning of natural gas or its mixtures (air-gas mixture) in industrial furnaces, mainly in tunnel kilns, used for roasting of products in refractory, construction and metallurgy industries. SUBSTANCE: the method makes it possible to attain a process temperature of 1760 to 1800 deg. C in the furnace offtake, which provides for roasting of zirconium products. A high calorimetric temperature of natural gas burning (tc=2000 to 2250 C) is attained at burning of air-gas mixture in the flue in the atmosphere of hot secondary air at a temperature of 750 to 800 C; hot secondary air (4 to 4.5 cu.m) is supplied per 3,41•104 kJ of fuel heat at a relation between the flow rate of air-gas mixture and flow rate of the jet of hot secondary air within 4.5 to 5.0. Oxidizing atmosphere is produced due to the optimum relation of the components (gas, primary air, secondary hot air) and condition of the process of natural gas burning providing for completeness of its combustion. Positive effect is attained due to a high process temperature (1760 to 1800 C) in the furnace offtake (an obligatory condition to be observed at roasting of zirconium products) and creation of an oxidizing atmosphere in the furnace reducing to minimum the flowing of CO into the atmosphere. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. 2 cl
