FIELD: precious metal treatment. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to acid affinage of precious metals and can be used for purifying silver from gold impurities. In a method including dissolution of silver-containing products in nitric acid, precipitation of silver from solution in the form of silver nitrate followed by reducing precipitate, silver precipitate, prior to be reduced, is leached with mixture of hydrochloric and nitric acids to remove gold impurities. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of affinage.
