FIELD: oil producing and processing and chemical industries, in particular, methods of monitoring of oil content in formation fluid in process of well operation. SUBSTANCE: instrument has outlet pipe from the main pipeline, measuring vessel in form of hydraulic cylinder with piston and rod. Cylinder rod is connected, by means of rack secured to it, with gears of reducing gear and engageable with limit switches fixing their extreme positions. Hydraulic cylinder is communicated with main pipeline of the well through connecting pipeline and electric valve. Installed in connecting pipeline, before measuring vessel, is calibrated orifice with electric differential pressure gage whose output is connected to computer. Instrument also has unit forming pulses which registers quantitative variation of fluid volume in measuring vessel. Disk through gearing is connected with reducing gear.
