FIELD: instruments, in particular, high-speed remote control systems for measurement of linear velocity, orientation and control of spaceships, navigation and geodesic instruments. SUBSTANCE: method involves passing flat-polarization monochromatic narrow beam through optical plate, which is made from double beam reflection crystal, converting optical signal at output of plate to value of object velocity. Said beam is generated by means of optical serial circuit of lens, narrow-band filter and polarization unit. Light which is output by moving object or stationary source is used by this circuit. Object velocity is detected by frequency and phase of optical signal alternations at output of plate. EFFECT: increased functional capabilities. 2 cl, 3 dwg
