FIELD: geophysics, remote studies of surface of the Earth, structure of soils under surface, detection of closed objects, increase of accident-free traffic of motor vehicles under difficult conditions for passage and in limited visibility. SUBSTANCE: gear has transmitting and receiving units. Transmitting unit incorporates clock pulse signal generator, videopulse generator and transmitting antenna, receiving unit includes sawtooth voltage generator, comparison circuit, gate pulse former, receiving antenna and stroboscopic mixer. Gear is also provided with airborne controlling computer, fibre-optical communication line connecting transmitting and receiving units. Transmitting unit has control unit and receiving unit incorporates microcomputer controlling receiving unit, limiter through which receiving antenna is connected to stroboscopic mixer, amplifier with controlled gain factor, retrieval and storage circuit, analog-to-digital converter, first digital-to-analog converter ensuring generation of slow stepped sawtooth voltage comparable in comparison circuit with sawtooth voltage of generator, second digital-to-analog converter ensuring control over amplifier with controlled gain factor, unit controlling gate pulse former. Transmitting antenna with videopulse generator and receiving antenna with limiter and stroboscopic mixer are structurally integrated.
