TURF GRANULATED FERTILIZER AND A METHOD OF ITS PRODUCING Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: fertilizers. SUBSTANCE: turf fertilizer containing turf, glycerol and mineral components has potassium carbonate, magnesium carbonate, manganese sulfate and zinc sulfate and additionally cobalt sulfate and strengthening additions - cement and carboxymethylcellulose at the following ratio of components, wt.-%: turf, 62.5-65.4; carbamide, 2.15-5.40; phosphate (as measured for P₂O₅), 0.5-1.2; potassium carbonate, 1.2-2.8; lime meal, 4.1-6.3; magnesium carbonate, 1.56-1.63; manganese sulfate, 0.03-0.10; boric acid, 0.01-0.03; zinc sulfate, 0.04-0.13; copper sulfate, 0.01-0.03; ammonium molybdate, 0.0002-0.0010; cobalt sulfate, 0.0005-0.0030; glycerol, 2.0-4.6; cement, 2.3-4.7; carboxymethylcellulose, 0.010-0.100; and water, the balance. Method of fertilizer producing involves turf mixing (moisture is 40-55%) with mineral components, granulation and drying. Firstly turf is mixed with lime meal and cement and then with calculated amount of the mineral components solution, glycerol and carboxymethylcellulose. Firstly acid components (phosphate and trace elements) were dissolved, then - potassium carbonate and carbamide at the last stage. Mass is stirred up to homogeneous state, formed as granules (diameter is 7-12 mm), made round and dried in air flow at moderate temperature increase to 60 C.
