FIELD: refrigerating engineering; air-conditioning systems and heat pumps. SUBSTANCE: method consists in varying the pressure in the delivery side in transcritical vapor-compression cycle by means of variable-displacement member connected to circulating loop. Device includes variable-displacement member 5 provided with chamber 14 connected to delivery side and brought in communication with it to admit cooling agent into chamber and movable partioning device 11 bounding at least one side of chamber 14; it is shifted between first and second positions, thus providing for first and second volumes of cooling agent inside chamber 14.
