FIELD: military equipment, in particular, artillery systems located on vehicles, for instance on tanks, and intended for their self-defence. SUBSTANCE: the self-defense system uses a radar for detection and measurement of attacking shell trajectory parameters. Launching tubes with ammunition are slantingly installed on the upper part of the vehicle, for instance around the tank turret. Each ammunition has a propellant charge and an anti-shell with a communication line. The anti-shell has a box-type body with a fragmentation facing of directive action made of non-metallic material and a bursting charge in the form of a plate. The attacking shell is destroyed in the immediate vicinity of the vehicle. The anti-shell may have an impulse turn engine. The self-defence system has a unit for prediction of the moment of attacking shell entry to the system destruction zone and a unit for selection of the ammunition number and generation of a command for its shooting and bursting. The bursting command is sent to the anti-shell fuze over a wire line. EFFECT: enhanced reliability. 5 cl, 13 dwg
