FIELD: medical engineering. SUBSTANCE: method involves creating, storing and reproducing reference metrological characteristics of instruments to be standardized as test signals for testing instruments in operation by comparing real measured characteristics to required amplitude-frequency and time characteristics in prescribed frequency band. Specific properties of parameters to be measured are additionally introduced like medical signs being symptoms of heart, brain, muscles, skin diseases approximating test signals to really measured ones available in express-control and diagnosis practice. Working instruments are certified in operation mode at the sites they operate like in intensive care and resuscitation therapy wards by tuning, restoring their operation capacity in advance (repairing when needed), checking and calibrating in pass-through measurement way for each instrument channel with following conclusion given as certificate conforming its operation fitness corresponding to a scale composed of normal, boundary, pathologic, and-threatening-change grades in measuring signals as instruments responses. Express-control of working order, diagnostics and integral evaluation of effectiveness of every instrument to be certified is carried out by using functional reference generator which memory units store test signals and data processing unit of this testing generator makes comparison of output response signals of working instrument to state standard norms of metrological characteristics to make decision based on the comparison results whether to give positive or negative certificate.
