FIELD: medicine, toxicology. SUBSTANCE: in contrast to a prototype in suggested method burn toxins are removed from skin surface by constant washing it with physiological solution that enables to use this method during the whole period of burn intoxication. Exchange of solutions 4-10 times daily maintains the concentration of toxic substances in washing solution at low level that leads to their constant and prolonged washing out from injured tissues due to diffusion and, correspondingly, to decreased toxemia. Turbulent flow of solution at its substitution favours an active spare mechanical cleaning of injured surface against necrotic masses. Liquid layer isolates injured surface against microbial contamination. Addition of water-soluble antibacterial preparations into solution decreases the danger of burn infectious complications. EFFECT: pronounced decrease of toxemia and increased viability of patients at extensive burns.
