FIELD: sewage treatment practice. SUBSTANCE: method involves settling sewage, filtering it and sorbing on filtering bed. Novelty of the method is in that settling process is conducted at rate 2-4 mm/s, while filtering and sorption are conducted at the following relationship between diameters and heights of bed-constituting layers: D1/D2=0.21-1.3 and H1/H2=2.3-6.8. EFFECT: lower operating expenditures; low-cost and easily available filtering and sorptive materials; reduced potable water consumption due to multiply recycling treated sewage. 2 tbl
