LUBRICATING FLUID CONCENTRATE FOR MACHINING METALS Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: lubricating fluids. SUBSTANCE: new lubricating fluid concentrate containing 30 to 50% of grease fraction is prepared by saponification of distillation bottoms of lubricating fluid using mixture of sodium hydroxide and triethanolamine to attain soap content at least 1.9 mg- equ/g based on grease fraction. Resultant fluid manifests good corrosion-inhibiting property, better affinity to water, and increases endurance of tools. Fluid is effective when cutting metals, threading ferrous, alloyed, and aluminum alloys, on cold stamping, and also as organic part of polishing and grinding pastes. Fluid is well washed out with hot water and technical detergents and does not smoke under severe metal machining conditions. EFFECT: improved performance characteristics. 4 tbl
