FIELD: applied biotechnology, microbiology. SUBSTANCE: solid nutrient medium used for qualitative and quantitative analysis of enterobacteria has nitrogen source, lactose, mannitol, mineral salts, dyes (neutral red and bromothymol blue) and water. The following mineral salts were used, %: NaCl 30-50; Na2HPO4×12H2O 5-6; (NH4)2SO4 10-15; K2SO4 25-40; MgSO4×7H2O 5-6, and Na2CO3 2-3. Components were taken at the following ratio, g/l: mineral salts 7.5-9.5; lactose 8-12; mannitol 0.3-0.7; neutral red 0.03-0.05; bromothymol blue 0.01-0.03; agar-agar 5-10, and water - the rest. Method of medium preparing involves agar mixing with dyes and mineral salts. Then the obtained mixture is dissolved in distilled water, boiled, filtered, pH value is brought about to 7.0-7.2, sterilized and mixed with preliminary sterilized lactose and mannitol solution at pH = 7.0-7.2. EFFECT: high quality of analysis, decreased analysis time. 3 cl, 6 tbl
