FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: method of measurement of cross-section of rolled stock lies in counterscanning of opposite edges of object by two beams and in count of counting pulses in each pair of corresponding information pulses. Deviation of dimension from basic one is determined as ratio of number of counting pulses in even number of pairs of information pulses to number of pairs of information pulses multiplied by specified spatial interval corresponding to period of repetition of counting pulses. EFFECT: increased accuracy of measurements thanks to diminished influence of movements of object. 2 dwg
