FIELD: medicine; pathophysiology, biochemistry. SUBSTANCE: biological substrate is taken from internal organ of animal and incubated with nitroblue tetrazole in atmosphere of air exhaled by sick person and by healthy person for monitoring. products of interaction of superoxide anion-radical and nitroblue tetrazole (formazans) are extracted by organic solvent, and formazan concentration is determined by optical density with the aid of spectrophotometry. This done, concentration of reaction products (formazans) per 1 mg of biological substrate is calculated. Intensity of formation of superoxide anion-radical in presence of air of patient and healthy person is estimated by means of the above-indicated concentration. prosuperoxide activity of air exhaled by examined persons is judged by difference of intensity of superoxide anion-radical formation by cells of biological substrate in presence of air of patient and healthy person. EFFECT: enhanced physiological observation of person in different functional conditions.
