FIELD: chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: synthesis-gas at mole ratio H2/CO = (1.6-5.2):1 is contacted with catalyst containing 4-10 wt.-% cobalt applied on silica gel. Process is carried out at 230-290 C, under pressure 10-50 atm and volume rate 400-800 h-1. Silica gel has mean pore diameter 8-13 nm and modified with 0.6-1.2 wt.-% zirconium (as measured for catalyst) by method of ion-exchange. Conversion degree of CO is 56.8%, selectivity by C5-C10-hydrocarbons is 14.4-36.7%. EFFECT: improved method of hydrocarbons producing. 1 tbl
