FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engine exhaust systems. SUBSTANCE: muffler has inlet branch pipe and number of coaxial cylinders. Beads are made on cylinder end faces pointed to opposite sides. Cylinders are installed for longitudinal displacement relative to each other and are spring-loaded to each other. Cylinders are made of material with high damping properties. Logarithmic decrement of vibrations of material of each following cylinder is greater than that of preceding cylinder.
