ROTARY POTATO PLANTER Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

FIELD: agricultural engineering. SUBSTANCE: rotary potato planter has carrier wheels mounted on frame, hopper, rotary working tool, planting and fertilizer spreading units, groups of share-type embedding units members. Each embedding working unit is made in the form of trapezium-shaped casing joined with adjacent casing through double-faced wedge positioned between shares. Front upper end of embedding share is pivotally attached to frame and rear lower end is spring-loaded relative to frame. Blocks of blades of drum are secured on shaft, with space between blocks being equal to crop row width. Shares are made in the form of A-hoes with liquid fertilizer sprayers. A-hoes are positioned in mid portion of crop row space in front of hopper and planting unit. Position of A-hoes may be adjusted in vertical plane. Planting unit is provided with protective and guiding shield. Trapezium-shaped casings are oriented down with their narrowing part. Number of blades opposed to ridger and positioned centrally of double-faced wedge of this ridger is twice the number of blades mounted along edge of drum shaft. Toothed comb is mounted on lower end of protective and guiding shield for displacement in vertical plane. Conveying chain of planting unit is positioned above soil surface (prepared bed) at a distance exceeding size of picking cup by 1.5-2.0 times.
