FIELD: agricultural engineering. SUBSTANCE: harvesting machine has digging device 1, pulling device 2 made in the form of contoured members positioned at an angle to horizontal plane on vertical shafts 3 for rotation in opposite directions. Entry mouth is positioned in front part of each contoured member and knife 8 is fixed under rear part of contoured member. Shear comb 9 is secured in rear part of each contoured member for joint movement with knife 8 provided with blades. Each contoured member is of chain type and adapted for carrying flexible blade with slots and ridges, with slots in one blade being engageable with ridges in other blade of contoured member. EFFECT: increased efficiency and improved quality of roots extracted from soil and of separated tops. 3 cl, 2 dwg
