FIELD: method of electric are welding of overhead welds of cast-iron products is applicable in welding of pipes in petroleum-gas industry, power industry, shipbuilding and public service. SUBSTANCE: U-preparation to indirect welding is performed. The joint to be welded is preheated. The root weld is welded at a heat input equal to 0.8-0.9 of the rated one with employment of filling wire containing 45 to 95% of nickel. The root weld is rewelded by argon-arc welding without filling wire by a nonconsumable electrode at nominal heat input. Weld filling layers are laid by argon-arc welding by a nonconsumable electrode at nominal heat input with employment of filling wire. EFFECT: eliminated sag of the back bead, enhanced quality of weld.
