FIELD: welding, in particular, arc welding of articles made of ductile cast iron; may be used in welding of articles from pipe billets in oil-and-gas producing industry, power engineering, ship-building and public utilities. SUBSTANCE: articles are welded by nonconsumable-electrode arc welding with the use of filling wire containing 55-95% of nickel. After welding of the last filling layer deposited on both sides of weld are process beads exceeding the thickness of welded articles and depth of weld penetration of not more than 0.35 this thickness. In this case process beads and the last filling layer form finished weld. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 6 cl, 1 dwg
