FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: claimed method of preparing acesulfame salts comprises reacting amidosulfonic acid salts with dixetene to form acetoacetamidosulfonic acid salts of formula I: cyclizing by using at least about equimolar amount of SO3. Said cyclization reaction is carried out in the presence of halogenated aliphatic hydrocarbon as inert solvent. The resulting product is treated with water and the resulting acesulfame-H of formula II is converted to non-toxic salt. The resulting crude solvent is distilled at standard pressure separation from water and low- boiling substances and regeneration of solvent which is rather pure to be reused for preparing compounds of formula I and/or II, the residue containing solvent, after distillation and further purification is recycled into reactor to carry out cyclization reaction.
